Spotified

I couldn't help myself with the title...spending the weekend being gloriously 'spotified', I have finally recovered from what must have been one hell of an allergic reaction. Still not quite sure what caused it (my bet is still on the silicone seal thingy the plumber put in) I am just glad that I can leave the house again. The cream that the Pharmacist has given me seemed to work wonders and I literally slashed it on as if it was my favourite Clarins hydraquench cream mask.

So for what it's worth - I have chosen a spotty dress for today. And thanks for being so kind in all your comments and emails, I feel really humbled by all your lovely words.

Summer and other things...

So summer has finally arrived and instead of hanging out on the beach I am hiding inside...how come? Well, it all started a few days ago with a leaking pipe in my house. I kept digging the wall to see what's going on behind there and found a leak in the water pipe. Not enough that I have almost died because of a massive spider coming out from behind that wall (massive = egg size!!!) - when the plumbers finally arrived they put some sort of sealing stuff on, which - turns out - I am apparently allergic to.

Shortly after they had left I broke out in spots - literally all over my upper body. This morning I woke up and it was lots worse and it was itching so badly, I put cortisone cream on it. Slightly worried I went to the Pharmacy, where I was told off for using cortisone cream for that in the first place a 'la 'you did not put that on all over did you?'

So anyway, I got some allergy stuff now which is supposed to make them disappear. Still, I feel like a 5 year old on chicken pox...

The pictures were taken 3 days ago (kind of obvious I guess) and they include a picture of my favourite summer desert...frozen raspberries with cream. Can't get better than that!

love...Kerastase

Many of you have emailed me and complimented me on my hair, I must admit that I felt really flattered and I didn't really expect that. I have also I have received a few requests asking about what shampoo I am using so I thought I would write about Kerastase Bain Satin 1.

In my opinion it's the world's best shampoo that transforms my hair like no other. The smell is gorgeous and reminds me of California (I used it excessively in California due to showering 3 times a day because it was so hot...) and it leaves your hair silky smooth and super shiny.

My hair is quite long and I wash it every day (if I am in a hot country it could be up to twice a day) and  I love it as it doesn't dry my hair out, it's super moisturizing and hydrating and it is my absolute must have item in the Bathroom. I even got the mini version for travel...definitely cannot live without it...

Summer

Summer has finally arrived! Believe it or not but the dress I am wearing is 4 years old - I bought it at Banana Republic in Kuala Lumpur as it was the perfect day to day dress for tropical conditions. I can't even remember wearing Jeans in Malaysia at all, it's just way to hot and humid.

The one thing I love about Banana Republic is the fact that their designs are just timeless. I love their dresses for being so incredibly versatile and classic and it's probably the reason that I hang on to them so long.

Topshop dress

It's Friday again and it's a gorgeous day here for a change. I am looking forward to a weekend filled with barbecues and taking my dog to the beach. I am only 5 minutes driving away from the beach and sometimes I seem to forget how incredibly blessed I am - is there a better place than living right next to the sea?

I am wearing a lovely vintage Topshop wrap dress - perfect for this sunny weather and perfect when paired with brown boots and tights this fall...

Have a nice weekend everyone xoxo

love...Burberry

Is there anything more classic and timeless than a pair of Burberry pumps? I can't wait for fall to arrive (at the moment you can't tell whether its July or November here...) as they will go perfectly with wide leg tweed trousers and cute blouses.

Two days ago I have caught myself checking flights to LAX from London, just to escape this rainy misery for a while. However, with the Olympics just around the corner it probably isn't the smartest thing to do and airports are best avoided in general.

As for me right now - I am starting to really fancy a gingerbread latte at Starbucks...

Saturday chic

I am glad the weekend has finally arrived as something seemed to happen every single day. It was graduation week and friends of mine graduated from law school, I found a kitten in my garden shed and rescued it and my darling boyfriend came back from a businnes trip to Asia.

So all back to normal now and I am looking forward to a quiet and relaxing weekend, doing nothing but drinking coffee and watching Ally Mc Beal on DVD. Going to my friends graduation was strange in a way because I never got to go to my own graduation as I was in San Francisco at the time (much better - I know...) but I still think it's a really special moment.

Have a nice weekend everyone xoxo

ACNE Skinny Jeans

My favourite brand for jeans is and has always been 7 for all mankind - however I couldn't miss out on this gorgeous pair of skinny jeans from ACNE. It's a super soft material and literally feels like a second skin. Given the fact that it feels like October right now - I was forced to pull out my merino wool sweaters (in July!!).

I wonder whether we will ever see the sun again in this country. Instead of having barbecues I am sitting inside with vanilla scented candles, drinking chai tea latte. This non existent summer makes me miss the life I once had in Asia. It inspires me to write about Malaysia, where I have lived on and off for 3 years and which I still refer to as 'home', everytime I visit. Is anyone out there who has also lived in Malaysia?

Post about Kuala Lumpur coming soon...
xoxo
